As a young teenager, I was always taking snapshots of events that were happening in my life. I would insert them into my journal and write about how fun each experience was. For me, it was a way of life. I wanted to capture all those moments so the years wouldn't fade my memories. I continued this same pattern through marriage. Soon, 4 children later, documenting the events in our family's lives became one of my favorite things to do. Though I loved taking pictures, I wasn't always pleased with the results. Years later, when my children older, and began to leave home, I had tons of 'Free Time'. I decided to go back to school to learn more about photography. Soon, a new passion was born! I fell in the love with the art and beauty of photographs taken. The whole process of developing film and the printing process amazed me! Through working as an assistant photographer, while attending classes, I have continued to learn the art of photography. I absolutely love being a photographer. Creating images that document a moment in time brings joy into my life. My style is constantly evolving. Simple, yet filled with emotion. Specializing in a documentary style of photography, I try to capture the everyday moments that show the unique personality of the one being photographed. As a professional photographer, I began to love certain types of photography. I love babies feet, their little bodies that curl right up, the smell of their skin, essentially everything about newborns. I love toddlers, children whose eyes are filled with wonder, seniors in high school eager to graduate, and engagement couples who are in love. I think every teenager should feel beautiful (or handsome!) I love watching families interact with each other when I help create a moment in time. My goal is to capture the moments like this so memories will last.
